Movetru Welcomes Tech Entrepreneur Gareth Quinn and Neurosurgeon-Turned-Strategist Dr. Chris Rumana to Our Board
Strengthening Our Leadership to Power the Next Phase of Global Expansion
We are excited to announce two significant additions to the Movetru Board of directors as we continue to scale our impact across Ireland, the UK, and the United States.
We have appointed Northern Ireland entrepreneur and exited sports-tech founder Gareth Quinn as a Non-Executive Director. Additionally, we welcomed Dr. Chris Rumana, a leading US neurosurgeon and current Chairperson of Belfast med-tech firm Axial 3D, as the new Chairperson of Movetru.
Speaking about the future of the company, Gareth shared:
“I see Movetru becoming the standard for movement intelligence in sport. As we grow, our technology will integrate even deeper into training, rehab and performance workflows, while our go-to-market strategy unlocks new sports, new partnerships and that global scale.”
These appointments follow our investment round earlier this year, led by Two Magnolias (UK) and supported by an international syndicate across the UK, Ireland, and the US, including IAG Capital. Together, Gareth and Chris bring a balance of commercial leadership, tech insight, and strategic guidance that strengthens our pathway to global scale.
Reflecting on our mission, Dr. Rumana commented:
“Naomi herself is the perfect advocate, with her history, for helping athletes reduce injury risk and avoiding people being taken out of the sports that they love.”
A Milestone Moment: The Movetru Product Launch
We announced these appointments during a major milestone for our company, the product official launch Movetru. On Thursday, December 4th, we opened the doors of our Sports Innovation Lab to investors, athletes, supporters, and sporting organisations from across Ireland, the UK, and the US for an evening of celebration.
This event marked the first public unveiling of our complete technology platform: a wearable device paired with an AI-powered app that delivers instant, on-field biomechanical insights. It brings laboratory-grade biomechanics directly to the pitch, helping athletes optimise performance, build resilience, and reduce injury risk, all through a mobile and easy-to-use system.
Neil McManus, GPA Board Member, captured the energy of the night:
“It was a pleasure to be in attendance at the Movetru launch tonight, the sky is the limit for this company. From a GAA perspective I know how impactful this can be for athletes. There are 4,000 inter-county players who will all benefit from Movetru.”
The evening featured our latest tech, speeches from CEO Naomi McGregor and CTO Dylan McBurney as well as a night full of entertainment. The night highlighted how far we have come and where we intend to go next.
Built With Athletes, For Athletes
Movetru exists because athletes deserve deeper understanding, better solutions, and fewer barriers to performance. Nothing reinforces that more than hearing directly from those we support.
Ireland 7’s player Niamh Marley shared her experience:
“Movetru really helped during my third ACL injury. I knew I wanted any percentage gain I could to make sure I could make it back to the top level. It is an amazing experience and to say I was treated with the highest standard is an understatement. Movetru is something I would advise everybody to use.”
Our Founder & CEO, Naomi McGregor, closed the evening by recognising the community behind our progress:
“We are so excited to be here tonight with our athletes, investors, supporters and team to celebrate all of the things that come together to make Movetru happen. Tonight has been a phenomenal event and we are so excited to hit 2026 with a bang.”
